This ww2 commemoration stone is situated in the harbour of Dragør just outside
Copenhagen. This is the first one – a very recent one, in fact it was revealed
in 2003 to commemorate the 60th anniversary for the evacuation of almost all of
the Danish Jews. In October 1943 many local fishermen sailed the Jews across the
belt of Øresund to Sweden which was a neutral – i.e., safe country for refugees
during ww2.
